With news of Chuck Mosley's return to the stage this coming summer in support of Billy Gould's Talking book, I managed to get a few words from each of the guy's about what these shows mean to them.
Chuck:
i'm pretty excited about that. Billy and I have been talking over the interweb on my face, and space book, and stuff, but really, Billy has been a really big help and showing us alot of love and support over the last few months, since we got in touch recently....ish.
He is trying to put us in touch with distributors and booking agents and stuff, because, like i said, our label that put out the VUA cd closed down right after, so, with the help of doug esper, we're doing everything ourselves.
Billy has offered alot of sound advice, and whatever resources he has access to, to help us in any way that he can. and we totally appreciate it, and are looking forward to going down to Chile and playin a couple shows with him and his group/band/project/thing he's doing, talking book.
It is the first bearing of fruit of our recent getting back in touch. Hopefully, this will just be the first of much more to come, in the way of playing, touring, and some legitimate representation. Because VUA is definitely ready to put an end to this idle period, and get busy taking some music back to destinations unknown, and adventures awaiting.
I should end here for now before I start confusing myself, as well as anyone else who might be reading this. thanks for listening/reading.
Jared:
I'm super psyched to be able to play in Chile again...Great people, good listeners and terrific wines... I'm a huge Chuck era FNM fan, We Care A lot the record is definitely one my all time favs for sure. So to be able to share a stage with Chuck will definitely be a highlight...Can't wait.Bill:
When I was first approached with this concept, it struck me as a bit odd, especially as Talking Book sounds nothing like Chuck's band, but that's one of the things that I like about it! It will definitely be an interesting couple of shows… it will be good to be playing and hanging out with Chuck, I haven't done that in years, and I=it should be a hoot for the Chilenos too. Right now we're in the process of putting together a few more Talking Book shows, specifically in Brazil and Argentina, though nothing's confirmed yet, we expect to have news very soon.
